General Rental Terms and Conditions

Purpose of the Contract

These General Rental Terms & Conditions define the terms under which Sawadeebike Co., Ltd. Company Limited / DBD Registration Number : 0835568008216

75/60 Moo 10 Chalong – Muang Phuket 83130 (hereinafter referred to as “the Lessor”) rents out electric bikes and related accessories to its clients (hereinafter referred to as “the Lessee”).

All Sawadeebike e-bikes are Thai-made, eco-friendly vehicles, fully authorized for use on public roads in compliance with the Thai Land Traffic Act B.E. 2522 (1979).

These e-bikes are legally classified as pedal-assist electric bicycles, meaning the motor must be engaged only while pedaling. Sawadeebike Co., Ltd. shall not be held responsible for any misuse or for any fines or penalties issued by local authorities.

The Lessee is responsible for ensuring their riding behavior remains compliant with Thai road regulations at all times.

Rental Conditions

• The use of our bikes is not permitted in the Patong Area.

Our service area and optional insurance are limited to Phuket Town, Chalong, Rawai, Kata and Karon only.

• Age & Ability: The Lessee must be at least 18 years old and physically fit to ride a bike, with no medical restrictions.

• Use of Equipment: The rented bike and accessories are for personal use only and cannot be lent or sublet to third parties. The Lessee agrees to handle the equipment responsibly and to respect the traffic laws in force in Thailand.

• A security deposit of 3,000 THB is required at vehicle pickup.

Contract termination in case of misuse

The rental agreement may be terminated immediately without refund in the following cases:

• Cannabis, CBD, Alcohol & drugs: Riding under the influence of Cannabis, CBD, alcohol, drugs, or any narcotic substances is strictly prohibited in Thailand and will result in immediate contract termination.

Improper use of the e-bike
• Performing tricks, wheelies, skids, riding in hazardous or off-road conditions, any failure to comply with Thai traffic laws, taking selfies while riding, holding or manually operating a mobile phone while riding, transporting the bicycle in a car, truck, van, SUV, or any other motor vehicle without the prior written consent of SawadeeBike Co., Ltd., and any other unsafe, reckless, or inappropriate behavior, etc. (non-exhaustive list).

• Overloading the bike:

Vintage Brown & EarlGrey: 1 adult rider (Maximum rider weight: 100 kg)

BuddyBike: max. 1 adult (Maximum rider weight: 100 kg)

Exceeding these limits will result in contract termination without refund.

Rental Area

Rental area restricted to Chalong, Kata, Karon, Rawai, and Phuket Town.

It is strictly forbidden to ride outside the authorized area.

All e-bikes are equipped with GPS tracking.

If SAWADEEBIKE detects that a bike has left the permitted zone, the rental contract will be automatically terminated without refund.

Rental Duration

• Rental duration is defined at the time of booking.

• Any extension must be requested and approved at least 24 hours before the scheduled return.

• Late returns may result in additional charges.

Pricing & Payment

• Rental rates are shown on our website and vary depending on the duration, bike model, and any accessories included.

• Payment is made online or in-store, via the secure Stripe platform.

Security Deposit

• A security deposit is required at the time of booking (3000 THB in cash per bike).

• It will be refunded upon return, subject to deduction for any repair or replacement costs due to damage or loss.

Theft of the bike

In case of theft of the bike:

• The Lessee must immediately inform Sawadeebike and file a report with the local police.

• All our e-bikes are equipped with GPS tracking devices to facilitate recovery in case of theft.

• If the bike is recovered via GPS, any costs related to recovery or necessary repairs will be charged to the Lessee.

• If the bike is not recovered and the theft is determined to be the Lessee’s responsibility (e.g. not using the lock, parking in a restricted area, lending the bike to a third party), the Lessee will be held liable for the full replacement value of the bike.
Lessee Responsibilities

The Lessee is responsible for the routine care of the bike and accessories:

• Battery charging

• Tire pressure

• Cleanliness of the bike and accessories

In case of damage, loss or theft, the Lessee must immediately notify the Lessor and may be held liable for any associated costs.

Breakdown Assistance

• In case of a mechanical breakdown not due to misuse (see section 2.1), the Lessor will intervene and attempt to repair on-site.

• If repair is not possible, a replacement bike of the same category will be provided.

• If no replacement is available, the remaining rental days will be fully refunded.

• If the issue is due to misuse by the Lessee, repair and call-out costs will be charged.

Flat Tire

In the event of a flat tire, the Lessee must immediately contact the rental company.

Our team will come to assist and repair the issue directly on-site.

Do not ride the bike with a flat tire under any circumstances, as it may cause further damage and additional charges.

Please note that a service fee will be charged for on-site flat tire repairs.

However, Lessee who have subscribed to a SAWADEEBIKE insurance plan will not be charged for this service.

Insurance COVERAGE

• The Lessee is advised to check their own insurance coverage regarding the use of rented bicycles in Thailand.

• The Lessor offers an optional insurance covering certain risks (please refer to the Sawadeecool Insurance: when you book your e-bike, just click on the Insurance & Accessories button for more information).
Any assistance or rescue intervention will be charged 500 THB if the renter has not subscribed to the “Sawadeecool Insurance”. In addition, any repair costs resulting from damage to the bicycle or its accessories will be charged to the renter if no insurance has been purchased.

Return of Equipment

• All rented equipment must be returned on the agreed date and time, in the same condition as upon pickup.

• The battery must be at least 80% charged upon return. Otherwise, a fee of 1,000 THB will be applied.

• Any late or damaged returns may result in additional fees.

Cancellations & Refunds Policy

Cancellation by the Lessee:

Free cancellation within 48 hours after booking

You may cancel your booking within 48 hours after confirming it. Beyond this time, no refund will be granted, regardless of the rental start date.

No refund after 48h

    • After 48 hours following your reservation, your booking becomes final and non-refundable.
    • This applies to all bookings, including those made several months in advance.
    • It also applies to long-term bookings (weekly or monthly rentals).

⚠️ Last-minute bookings
made less than 48 hours before the scheduled pick-up date and time are considered final and non-refundable upon confirmation. No refund will be granted in the event of cancellation, no-show, or failure to collect the bicycle, as the reserved bike has been blocked and made unavailable for other customers.

Cancellation by the Lessor:

Non-Refund of Rental Days, any rental period that has started is due in full.

In the event of early return of the bike by the client, for any reason whatsoever, rental days already started will not be refunded, either partially or in full.

This rule applies regardless of the initial duration of the contract and the remaining time until the end of the rental period.

Mandatory mid-rental inspection:
For any rental period exceeding seven (7) days, the renter agrees to return the rented electric bicycle to our shop for a mandatory intermediate technical inspection, lasting approximately fifteen (15) minutes.
This inspection includes, but is not limited to:
the general condition and pressure of the tyres,
the braking system,
safety-related components and parts subject to normal wear.

Delivery & Pick-up

Deliveries & pick-up are available only for rentals of at least three days and must be booked at least 48 hours in advance.

The delivery and pick-up services are subject to availability and must be confirmed in advance, as we cannot schedule multiple deliveries at the same time on the same day.

We can deliver for 3 days rental minimum, and pick up your electric bikes directly to your hotel or villa (up to 2 bikes per delivery) in the following areas:

• x2 bikes / 350 THB (Rawai)

• X2 bikes / 600 THB (Kata)

• x2 bikes / 600 THB (karon)

• x2 bikes / 800 THB (Phuket Town)

These prices apply per trip.

if you request both delivery and pick-up, the total cost will be 2x the one-way price.
(e.g. 600 THB for delivery + 600 THB for pick-up in Kata = 1,200 THB total)

Right to refuse rental:
The rental company reserves the right to refuse the rental of an electric bicycle to any customer, without obligation to justify its decision, in the event of reasonable doubt regarding the customer’s ability to safely operate an electric bicycle on public roads in Thailand.
This includes, but is not limited to:
lack of experience riding electric bicycles,
no prior experience operating an electric bicycle,
unsafe behavior, poor balance, or insufficient control of the electric bicycle,

unfamiliarity with traffic rules in Thailand.

If a scheduled booking (shop pick-up or delivery) is not honored, we reserve the right to cancel the booking without refund.

Disputes

In case of a dispute, both parties agree to seek an amicable solution. Failing that, the matter will be referred to the competent Thaï Police authorities.

We strongly recommend that all customers check their own personal insurance coverage (e.g., travel insurance, liability insurance, credit card insurance) to ensure they are protected in case of accidents involving third parties or personal injury.

SAWADEEBIKE INSURANCE “Sawadee Cool“ Important – Coverage Limitations

 

The insurance option provided by SAWADEEBIKE exclusively cover material damage to the rented electric bicycle and its accessories.

 

The following are not covered:

 

– Material damage caused to third parties (e.g., damaged vehicle or property)

– Bodily injury caused to third parties (e.g., injured pedestrian)

– Bodily injury or personal accidents affecting the renter themselves.

 

Therefore, we strongly recommend that all customers check their own personal insurance coverage (e.g., travel insurance, liability insurance, credit card insurance) to ensure they are protected in case of accidents involving third parties or personal injury.

 

SAWADEEBIKE cannot be held liable for any incident beyond material damage to the rented equipment.
